There are two sides to sharing an event:

Firstly, the SayYesMore team needs to know so we can add your event to:

  1. The SayYesMore Calendar

  2. The promotional events post pinned to the top of the YesTribe group

  3. Our social media channels and newsletter

  4. Our geeky HQ spreadsheet, which tells us how many events we’ve had, how many people participated

And then, there’s sharing to a potential audience:

  1. Your regional Facebook tribe

  2. The main Facebook tribe.

When sharing on Facebook:

copy the url for your event and paste it into the ‘Write Something’ field

It’ll then expand into a visual post (as long as you’ve added a cover photo to your event - highly recommended)

Delete the link to the group now, it’ll just remove the ugly url text from the post, but the visual link will remain

Write a couple of lines about why you're excited about it, that'll add some personality and encourage more interest.

Do NOT just share the url and then post. ALWAYS add some description, this not only increases visibility of your post but makes the event more personable, not just an advert.

Important!

Before and after each event, find the pinned post on the SayYesMore Team group that looks like this:

When you create your event, please post the url in the comments below this post. This way we know it's happening.

And once your event has happened, share a 'family photo' from the gathering, along with the number of people who turned up, a brief description of what you got up to, and any other interesting/ funny stories.

Please share this information in your comment, don't expect us to click links and find the info for ourselves (the workload adds up with 60+ people creating events :))

All of this will help us:
1) Save time scanning all the Facebook groups for new events
2) Keep a record of all events and participants
3) Share your events (before and after) on social media, directing people to your regional group, which in turn will grow
4) Did I mention it will help save us time? :)

If your event is already on www.facebook.com/pg/SayYesMore/events/ then we know about it already, so no need to share.

Event Basics

  1. Create Event within your regional tribe

  2. Ensure event name, location, time and description are correct and clear

  3. Copy event URL and paste into the pinned events tab on SYM Team 2020 Facebook group

  4. To share event to main or other regional tribe group, paste event url and then once the link has loaded (the image and title appears as a link at the bottom of the post) delete the url

  5. Write a nice, encouraging description

  6. Bingo! Build it, and they will come (and if they don't at first, don’t give up)
