Setting up Group Rules

Head to your regional tribe group and look for the tabs on the top left:

Moderate Group > Create Rules > Copy/Paste the rules below into different fields (this may take a few minutes but it’s worth it!)

Support your volunteer moderators

We’re all volunteers and work hard to maintain a safe, positive culture here, please respect that we’re not full time and that we act with good intention. All we ask is that all members do the same.

Be good to each other

Everyone is welcome. No bullying, disrespect, rudeness, swearing, overt negativity or degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will be tolerated

No politics

There are plenty of other forums to share political views, but the YesTribe is not one of them. Please don’t share petitions or political opinion or media content

Only real people

To increase trust in the group and conversation we don't allow pages, false names or profiles without pictures.

No promotions, sales, competitions or spam
No unsolicited promotions of products, pages or external groups. No branded posts, sales, asking for money, competitions or competition entries/ vote requests. Give more to this group than you take.

Keep it inclusive

Please don’t use the YesTribe to create spin-off groups, message chats or private WhatsApp conversations for events. We want everybody to feel included. If you’d like to run events, join our team :)

No fundraising

Every YesTriber raises money for charity and if everyone posted we wouldn't have room for good conversation. We don't want members to feel pressure to give money so sorry, no fundraising posts.

Concise & relevant content. No memes

- Please add a description which sharing content, no blank shares - Regional-specific content belongs on a regional group - Please don't share every blog you write, and keep post-length nice & short

Answer the question
Unless your opinion is asked for, please don’t give it. At all times be aware of how your language and wording might make others feel. Even if you feel strongly about a topic, keep the high ground

Respect everyone's privacy

Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What's shared in the group should stay in the group.

Post Approval

We see the regional groups as being a little different from the central YesTribe group, which is very much a discussion forum (which we see being used by YesTribers from around the world) where we ban any promotional posts, sales, adverts, and anything that involves money or potential advertising.

We know that regional tribes will have fewer members and that regional opportunities, even those which involve a fee, may be interesting to regional tribe members.

With this in mind, we’re happy to rely on your judgement as a tribe leader. Several regional tribes allow all members to post (which saves you the job of approving all posts) but then the leader is still able to moderate and delete any posts which they feel don’t represent the values of the YesTribe. If this happens, you’re backed up by the group rules (above) which each new member is required to agree to.
